Robert V. Ostler (Foreshore) Park
The Robert V. Ostler (or Foreshore) Park contains picnic tables, park and large grassy area perfect for a family picnic. The park is located in the centre of Campbell River, along the shoreline of the Discovery Park.

Sequoia Park
Located next to the Campbell River Museum, a large Sequoia tree overlooks the Discovery Passage. The park provides a good vantage point from which to view Cape Mudge First Nations Village and the lighthouse on Quadra Island, as well as passing cruise ships. The ceremonial Torii Gate is also situated in Sequoia Park. A stairway leading down to the water's edge provides access to natural caves formed in the embankment.

Located in the Nimpkish Valley, this provincial park is considered to be one of the most scenic on Vancouver Island, and is very popular among hikers, boaters and fishermen. The area boasts old-growth forest, glaciers, waterways, meadows, small lakes and natural habitat for deer, elk and fish. |

Woodhus Slough
Located half-way between Campbell River and Courtenay (just north of Miracle Beach), the Woodhus Slough offers premier bird viewing. The park is located 2 km north of the Oyster River, along a shore line that contains a slough, marsh, farm field, beach and rare plants. Almost 200 species of bird have been recorded here. To Access the area head north from Campbell River on Hwy 19. Turn onto Salmon Point Road and head to the trail signs.

Miracle Beach Provincial Park
Miracle Beach Park is located 28 km south of Campbell River on Highway 19, off Miracle Beach Road. Visitors can enjoy the large sandy beach as well as walking trails and a nature house. Bring the tent or RV and stay for a few days at one of the 193 vehicle/tent sites. A group BBQ area has picnic tables, washrooms and a changing area.

Elk Falls Provincial Park
Elk Falls Provincial Park features a large waterfall and some of the best year-round salmon fishing in Canada. the park is located on two kilometres from downtown Campbell River. The campsites are located off the Quinsam River, which is packed with salmon.

Rock Bay Marine Provincial Park
With a good boat anchorage location as well as a boat launch with a dock, Rock Bay Marine Provincial Park is a popular location for water sport enthusiasts. Visitors can fish, kayak, canoe and scuba dive and may also take advantage of the park's picnic areas and walking trails.

Centennial Park
Centennial Park is located at the corner of Alder and Fifth Ave. The park is a seasonal park with three swimming pool: one supervised pool, one parent supervised pool and one parent supervised toddlers pool. Picnic tables, playground and tennis courts are also available.

Oyster Bay Shoreline Regional Park
Located just north if Saratoga Beach, the Oyster Bay Shoreline and Regional Park is popular for its bike and wlking trails with gravel beaches and a great view across to Quadra Island. The trail leads to the southern part of Campbell River with a few picnic tabes and benches along the way.

Strathcona Provincial Park
Strathcona Provincial Park covers 250,000 hectares and is characterized by many mountain peaks, great for hiking. The parks numerous rivers and streams provide great fishing opportunities. Buttle Lake, known for great fishing, also offers many amenities for the visitor, making it a popular day trip spot. Forbidden Plateau also offers commercial services and great hiking. Campgrounds and picnic tables are offered throughout the park.

Mitlenatch Island Bird Sanctuary
Located just south of Quadra Island, Mitlenatch Island, meaning calm water all around in Coast , is accessible only by boat. This provincial nature park encompasses 36 hectares of land, 119 hectares of water and contains the largest seabird colony in the Strait of Georgia. The park boundary extends 300 metres (1000 ft) from the shore, protecting all marine life within this area. This park is extremely ecologically sensitive and visitors are not permitted to leave the trails, nor are bikes permitted. |
